Cleaning Your Jewelry
Different materials require different cleaning approaches.
Gold Jewelry
- Mix mild dish soap with warm water
- Soak for 15-30 minutes
- Gently scrub with soft brush
- Rinse thoroughly
- Dry with soft cloth
Professional cleaning recommended every 6 months.
Silver Jewelry
Silver tarnishes naturally. To clean:
- Use silver polishing cloth for light tarnish
- For heavy tarnish, use silver cleaning solution
- Avoid abrasive materials
Store in anti-tarnish bags to reduce oxidation.
Diamond Jewelry
- Soak in warm water with ammonia-based cleaner (1:6 ratio)
- Brush gently around settings
- Rinse under running water
- Dry with lint-free cloth
Pearl Jewelry
Pearls require special care:
- Wipe with damp soft cloth only
- Never soak or use chemicals
- Always put on last, take off first
- Resting often (acids from skin affect pearls)
Gemstone Jewelry
Most gemstones can be cleaned with:
- Warm soapy water
- Soft brush
- Gentle drying
Exceptions: Emeralds, opals, and pearls need extra care. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners.
