Cleaning Your Jewelry

Different materials require different cleaning approaches.

Gold Jewelry

  1. Mix mild dish soap with warm water
  2. Soak for 15-30 minutes
  3. Gently scrub with soft brush
  4. Rinse thoroughly
  5. Dry with soft cloth

Professional cleaning recommended every 6 months.

Silver Jewelry

Silver tarnishes naturally. To clean:

  1. Use silver polishing cloth for light tarnish
  2. For heavy tarnish, use silver cleaning solution
  3. Avoid abrasive materials

Store in anti-tarnish bags to reduce oxidation.

Diamond Jewelry

  1. Soak in warm water with ammonia-based cleaner (1:6 ratio)
  2. Brush gently around settings
  3. Rinse under running water
  4. Dry with lint-free cloth

Pearl Jewelry

Pearls require special care:

  • Wipe with damp soft cloth only
  • Never soak or use chemicals
  • Always put on last, take off first
  • Resting often (acids from skin affect pearls)

Gemstone Jewelry

Most gemstones can be cleaned with:

  • Warm soapy water
  • Soft brush
  • Gentle drying

Exceptions: Emeralds, opals, and pearls need extra care. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners.
